OMGoshigans July 2017

OMGoshigans 2017  – 21st to 24th July 2017

The countdown has started – here’s the schedule so far…

Hi everyone…

After the success of our fundraising for the last two years – we’ve decided to keep on going!

We raised £650 for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital in 2015 & 2016, now it’s time to plan for this years event. This years OMGoshigans will happen from 21st July – 24th July – yep, a whole weekend of music and entertainment.

OMGoshigans is ShenaniganS own annual Second Life community event organised solely by us in aid of Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital in London. Great Ormond Street stands at the forefront of Childrens medicine and represents the pinnacle of research and development in the field both in the UK and globally – you can read about their charitable fundraising and what it supports here – GOSH

Why do we need to do this?

In the UK, funding for day to day running of the hospital is met by the NHS at the moment, but the hospital relies solely on Charitable donations from people like us to be able to work consistently in research, provide care & support to Children and their families as well as purchasing and maintaining equipment, usually essential to their little patients.

You can read about one of their patients here – Clicky

Fantasia – one of our family has good cause to thank Great Ormond Street, just ask her why Gosh is so important – if you mention the name on the grid, you’ll find other people who were either patients or relatives of patients who are grateful for the work & research the hospital does.

What are we going to do?

So far the plan is to run three 18 hour days of music that will bridge the ocean dividing mainland Europe and the USA. As last years event happened we were overwhelmed with folks wanting to help us raise money, so our sincere hope is that they will be able to help this year to extend the program for Second Lifer’s outside of Europe who want to give money.

Who do I talk to?

Fantasia & Deb are organising the Live Music part of the schedule whilst Lola & Lyndka will organise the DJ’d side of things.

We’ll also need hosts for the event – there’ll be no tip jars in the club except for the charity thermometer but we’ll still need folks to greet artists (some of whom will have not visited ShenaniganS before) and guests who might be discovering us for the first time – you’ll make new friends and show how much fun we can all be.

We do hope you can all help at some point that weekend…

Lynd, Mina, Lola, Fantasia, Evan, Huggz & Deb
